Nevada Children teeth and oral health care
My three year old has stinky breath. I brush his teeth twice some times three times a day. He been seeing the dentist twice a year since he was one. He is not up to for his next dental appointment for another three months but since the last time he went he did not have any cavities.
What up with the stinky breath? It like puppy breath or somthing and it bugs me. Is there something I am not doing. I do not give him mints and he is too young for gum. Am I just making it a bigger deal or should I take him to the dentist sooner?

There is something to say for peace of mind. If you feel that your son as bad breath and that there is something more then just want he is eating taking him to the dentist sooner may help to ease your worries.
I am not sure if it is a big issue people can have bad breath for many reasons oral care only being one factor. Sounds like to me your are taking good oral care of his teeth. If you do not get any where with the dentist talk to his doctor.

Could be want he is eating. My son is one in a half and he is formua feed baby. Since I could not nurse for medical reasons. Any way the formua would give him stinky breath big time.
I had to change brands and then he bad breath went away. I know your son is older but look into the foods he eatting and see if that may be the cause of the bad breath he has.

Well personally I think it is better to be like how you are then do nothing about somthing that is bugging you. You never know he could have some tooth decay that is causing his breath to stink then waiting three more months is really not a good idea.
I would suggest taking him to see a dentist to find out it if is an oral or dental issue. Even if it is nothing it will not hurt him to see the dentist sooner.
