Washington buying a dental discount plan for your family

Thursday, Dec. 2nd 2010 9:51 AM

Right now do to some changes we no longer have dental insurance.   My job says they are looking for a new dental plan to offer but probably will not have anything until next year some time.

With that in mind and that we have a six year old that seems to easily get cavities I would like to get a low cost plan that I could pick up until if and when my job offers us back our dental benefits. What could you suggest for us?

Florida low cost family dental insurance needed.

Wednesday, Dec. 1st 2010 9:34 AM

Looking for a low cost family dental plan.  My husband changed jobs and we no longer have dental insurance.  This is not something with two kids that I want to do without.  All of us go twice a year to the dentist and I want us all to keep our good teeth.

However I am finding out that dental insurance is very expensive for a family costing up towards a 100 a month.  This is too costly for us to budget in.  I would like to get some dental insurance for half the cost.  Where can I go for good but low cost dental insurance.

Dist of Columbia dental insurance dental care for children

Monday, Nov. 29th 2010 9:08 AM

My son went in of his check up and cleaning that we pay cash up front for.  The dentist found two small cavities which as made me upset as a mom that he should have any cavities.  I have him brush his teeth twice a day in the morning and before bed time.

Even though he still only have his baby teeth I do not want him to get into bad habits and start having more cavities and not take good care of his adult teeth.   So I think the problem may be that he is not flossing like he should.   I do tell him to but I do not watch him.  He is eight so he know how to floss

Any advise on what I should do to get him into better brushing and flossing habits now so that he will not continue to have cavities in the future.

Pennsylvania Dental care, Yellowish baby teeth

Sunday, Nov. 28th 2010 4:21 PM

My son is just now starting to cut his first few baby teeth.  The teething faze as not been kind to him.   He has been really sore and cranky but I know it something we just have to pull though together.

The problem is I though his baby teeth would be really white.  Since they are new and all.  However, they do not look white at all they are more of a dingy yellow.   I am not sure why and I am worry this is a sign of bad teeth.  Should I be taking him to the dentist over three teeth ?  Or should I give it some more time to see what the others look like?

Dental care for kids, Rotten baby teeth help needed in Connecticut

Thursday, Nov. 25th 2010 3:25 PM

I would like to know can a baby just have rotten baby teeth?  My friend son is just now cutting his teeth at eight months old.  His first few baby teeth look like they are rotten.    His teeth are grayish white in color.  She does not know why this is happening.

Since I have two boys she came to me for my opinion and I told her she should take him to see the dentist.  Both of  my sons baby teeth were white.   I told her that I am not sure if  babies can be born with bad teeth or bad teeth color.

I think she will be taking him to see a dentist but I did let her know that I would look into it some more and see what I can come up with.

New Hampshire Children teeth, Dental care

Thursday, Nov. 25th 2010 9:25 AM

My son is 13 and hates to go to the dentist even for just a cleaning.  He thinks that if he brushing three times a day and flosses at night I should leave him alone about going to the dentist since he as yet to get any cavities.

I do not know why he dislike going so much he never had more then a cleaning done.  How can I make him see that no matter how often he brushes I am still taking him to the dentist twice a year for his check ups and cleanings.

I myself never had my wisdom teeth pulled so I do not know what it like.  Is it very painful? What should I have on hand that will make things easier on her? What type of aftercare is there if any.  Really any additional information would be nice

My 18 month old son’s teeth are coming in crooked.  It looks like a few of them are straight but the rest look crooked to me.  What should I do?  His teeth do not seem to be bothering him so I am not sure if I am making a big deal about it.  Maybe I am worrying to much.  Can baby teeth come in crooked but straighten themselves out over time?

I live in New York and we have have only one child.  My husband does not have dental insurance and since I am a new mom I quit my job to stay home with our daughter so the dental insurance we did have is now canceled as well.

I see that you offer Delta Dental in New York.  I know that dental insurance company since I had them in the past.  If I get that plan would we still be able to stay with our current dentist?  Also is there any way of waving off the waiting periods?

Children dental insurance benefits, Are night guards covered under dental insurance

Wednesday, Nov. 17th 2010 4:46 PM

I would like to know if night guards are cover under any of your dental plans as a benefit.   My son who is ten grinds his teeth when he sleeps.  Since he does this while sleeping it is something that is hard to just stop doing.

The dentist said he could get fitted for a night guard and wear it while sleeping this would help protect his teeth but the can cost up to $400 so they are not cheap by any means.  I am shopping out dental insurance dental plans but can not find night guards listed on any of the plans I have so far review.
