Disabled single dad needs help with dental insurance

Wednesday, Aug. 18th 2010 9:54 AM

I am a a disabled single dad of one boy who is eight years old.  I am currently on medicaid and I do collect SS but I do not have any coverages for dental services.  Right now we have little extra spending money and I do not want are oral health to be put off due to lack of money.

Is there any plans that I can get for the two of us that I have yet to fine?  Any where they get free dental services at least for my minor son?

Family dental insurance for an independent contractor

Tuesday, Aug. 17th 2010 9:42 AM

I am a independent contractor which means I have to get my own  health and dental for my family.  I got health insurance though Kaiser Permanente along with their dental.  I knew at the time that the dental was not a great plan and I would be paying for most of my dental work but I did not think I would be really using it much.

Well thing change and my one son does need more dental work then just the cleaning.  My daughter may also need braces.  Which the current dental plan does not even cover for if she does need them.  I am looking for a better dental plan choice please advise

Dental insurance for a newly married couple

Monday, Aug. 16th 2010 9:30 AM

I am 22 and my to be is 21.  We are going to be married in four months.  What I would like to know is, is it cheaper to get  dental care though our universities since we both are going to college just different universities.

Or would getting dental insurance once we are married be a less expensive way to go?  Not sure but trying to plan a head a little on what we need to do.

Dental insurance for my kids and filing claims.

Sunday, Aug. 15th 2010 9:07 AM

So I think I am being taken by my X-wife regarding the dental bills for her and my two sons.  I have to pay for her dental as well as my sons. Well it is 50/50 we each are to pay half the cost.  Which is fair and I do not mind.

The thing is she uses my dental insurance for the boys and her and I know she also has dental insurance though her job.  I think however she is using both plans.  She getting me to pay the half the cost that my plan does not cover but I think she is turning the dental bill over to her other dental insurance company and keeping the adjust difference of what we are all paying.

I do not mind paying what is fairly due but I do not like getting cheated.  Every thing was all good when I was just paying her the difference that she said I owed and I was doing that for some time.  However my current wife one time paid the dentist thinking that was what I did and the dental office call and told me I was over paying.    How do I find out for sure what is going on?

Family dental insurance, Who is a dependent

Saturday, Aug. 14th 2010 8:55 AM

For family dental insurance,  would only wife and kids be dependents?   Or could you also add extended family members that live with you?  My mom and 16 year old sister are living with me since my mom’s divorce.

They have no were else to go and I have been taking care of them both.  Could I not add them to my dental insurance?  They have some medical still but no dental so I am trying to help them out with that too.

Dental insurance for kids, Dental for a seven year old

Monday, Aug. 9th 2010 9:13 AM

Is there dental insurance or dental plans just for kids?  I have a seven year old that needs to see the dentist for a check up.  It has been a while since he last seen a dentist but I am just now able to afford some type of dental insurance for him.  I would like to know if they make very low cost plans for kids only.  Thanks.

California dental, kids dental care needed

Thursday, Aug. 5th 2010 7:59 AM

I have three kids and I need to be able to take them to an affordable dentist.  The thing is I really do not have money to take three kids to the dentist at $200.00 each.  And that is just for the basic visit, X-rays and cleaning.  For sure if they needed anything more there would be no way to address those issues.

I am not sure what to do.  They are not have any teeth issue right now and I make sure the are brushing their teeth like they should but I feel bad that I can not afford to get them the proper dental care.

Family dental insurance, Dental PPO plan with no waiting periods

Wednesday, Aug. 4th 2010 9:31 AM

I need to get dental insurance and I live in PA would like to buy a PPO dental insurance plan in order to stay with our family dentist.   Our family dentist does not take any other dental insurance plans but PPOs.   I have been looking into PPO plans but they all seem to have long waiting periods.  Is this common or are there any PPO dental insurance plans without waiting periods?

Children dental care, Cosmetic procedures.

Saturday, Jul. 24th 2010 9:42 AM

My daughter is seven and got into an accident were she lost four of her top front teeth.  They are just her baby teeth but I do not like that she has to deal with such a big gap.  Also she is talking funny since she lost her teeth.

Could she get a dental bridge until her adult teeth come in?  Or would that be consider as cosmetic dental services since they are only her baby teeth?  I know my dental insurance plan does not cover for cosmetic.  How would I know for sure?

Kids dental care, How do I find out the correct ADA code

Thursday, Jul. 22nd 2010 9:20 AM

My son needs to have two fillings.   So I thought at this point since the dentist wants to charge me over 250.00 for just two filing I would shop out getting him some dental insurance.   However I have found out that there is more then just one  price for a filling.

In order for me to know the true cost I am told that I would need to know the ADA code for the fillings my son needs.  Where would I get that from?  Someone most know them since two different dental company told me they could not quote a price without knowing the ADA code for the dental services.  Please advise I do not want to buy anything without knowing what I getting from it.

Dental care for kids, Need a new dentist for my son.

Wednesday, Jul. 21st 2010 8:51 AM

I have a HMO dental plan currently.  Both my husband and I have been seeing this one dental office that is in our plan.  My son is two and I thought it is a good time to make a dental appointment for him.  I just found out that our dental office does not help two years old.

He will not see my son until he is five.  I think that is just too long to have him wait.  I do not dislike that office so I do not want to have to change providers.  Can my son have his own dentist and we keep seeing the one we want to?  Not sure how it would workout.

Children Dental Insurance, Looking for a good dental insurance plan for my son

Friday, Jul. 16th 2010 9:48 AM

So I was reveiwing your plans you have quoted when I put my sons zip in.  I am a signal dad and my son lives with me for most of the year.  We are in TX and I would like to get a dental insurance plan for him since I do not get dental as a benifit from work.

I really do not care about the monthly cost as long as it is a good dental insurane plan that will be able to take care of any future dental needs my son may have.  It it helps to know he had really good teeth at this point in time.  Can you tell me your best plan is.

Family dental insurance needed, Looking for a low cost dental insurance.

Wednesday, Jul. 14th 2010 9:58 AM

I have one son and two girls.  Between my husband job and mine we make do good enough.  However both our jobs only offer the health insurance and not dental.  Due to this we have not had dental insurance for some time.

That is not to say that we do not go to the dentist only that we have been paying out of pocket for all dental services.  I would now at this point like to get a family dental insurance  plan that is not going to cost us more then $50.00 a month or so.   Can you advise me on a low cost dental insurance plan?
