My son is only two months old. So right now he does not have any teeth. My doctor told me I still need to wipe my son gums after each feeding so that he does not have extra milk in his mouth. Then when he gets his teeth in I should take him to see a dentist.
So I have been doing as suggested to me by my doctor. My friend told me about dental wipes and that is what she uses to clean her daughter teeth. She said they work just like brushing but are easier to use when you are dealing with an infant. I though you just brush the teeth when the start to come in. Are dental wipes just as good?

Please help. My daughter is four with three cavities. I do not have dental insurance and always paid cash for her dental check ups. But since she has three they want to put her under since one is really bad. The cost is more then I can afford and I was told I be better off if I got dental insurance. We live in California and I see you have many plans but I not sure what would help her the best.

My son who is five year old just had three baby teeth removed do to bad dental carries. He was very good while the dentist removed his teeth. However when the dentist was done with the extractions my son really just wanted to go home.
Now I know I should have taken more time to ask the dentist about his aftercare but I was only thinking of my son at the time. My son needs to go back to the dentist in a week to be fitted for space maintainers.
I guessing his gums will be heal by then. But since I forgot to ask about the aftercare I am not really sure. So besides trying to keep his mouth clean is there anything else I should be doing for him?

I have two children one that is six and one three year old. Does anyone know where I can find free dental insurance or free dental services. I am not asking for me but for my two children. I was told that children should be able to get free dental care but I do not know were.
I was very upset because when I got my job they told me I would also get health and dental after three months. However, that did not happen I only got medical no dental. I live on a very fixed income so just paying my bills and rent can be hard for me.
So where can I take my kids to get free dental services? Or dose anyone know of any dental insurance plan that would offer me free dental services that a course does not cost very much. Need help and good advise.

Fluoride is a trace element found naturally on Earth. It is not usually considered an essential element because people don’t need it to grow, but it does provide huge benefits in the form of preventing tooth decay. The health of the teeth and gums can be an indicator of general health, and tooth decay can even indicate other problems such as heart disease, so it is important to ensure that the teeth and gums remain healthy.
Adding fluoride to drinking water began in 1945. It was discovered by scientists that people living in areas that had water with naturally-occurring fluoride had less cavities. By further studying this concept, scientists found that fluoride could help stop and even reverse tooth decay by rebuilding the enamel on the outside of the teeth. The Michigan town of Grand Rapids contained the first public water system to implement fluoridation, and more than 60 percent of the entire country used fluoridated drinking water by 1992. The Center for Disease Control named fluoridated water one of the most important scientific advancements of the 20th century.
It is unclear even to scientists exactly how fluoride helps strengthen tooth enamel, but there is evidence that suggests it has something to do with the amount of minerals in the teeth. Tooth enamel can become corroded by organic acids found in food and drinks, but fluoride that has been absorbed in the body and is contained in the saliva can remineralize the enamel by interacting with phosphate and calcium already present.
The best time for fluoride consumption is during childhood. During this period, the teeth and bones are still forming, and the fluoride added to the diet strengthens them in preparation for the future. Just like any other health concern, it is best to prevent problems in the first place rather than deal with them after they have already occurred. Preventing cavities and decay is the primary goal of fluoridation. Fluoridated drinking water saves people much worry, pain, and money, especially people who may have certain concerns regarding dental insurance.
While many dentists, doctors, and professionals specializing in public health agree that fluoridated drinking water is healthy and helps to prevent tooth decay, there are also many opponents. Some people claim that adding fluoride to public drinking water is “forced medication” and also that it can lead to certain types of cancer, like thyroid cancer. Many independent and government studies have proven that there is no link between fluoridated drinking water and cancer, so those claims remain unsubstantiated by actual studies and evidence. In addition, other studies have shown that a population without fluoridated drinking water shows an increased risk of tooth decay.
The recommended daily intake for fluoride is 2.5 milligrams. Any more than this amount can cause brown or mottled teeth, and any less than this amount will lead to an increased risk for tooth decay. Generally, additional fluoride supplements are not needed, as the required amount is met by drinking the provided amount of fluoridated drinking water.

Amalgam fillings are the most thoroughly researched and tested restorative material among all those in use today. Amalgam fillings are durable, highly resistant to wear and they are the lower cost filling option.
Amalgam filling are made by combining elemental mercury, silver, tin, copper and possibly other metallic elements. Although amalgam filling are still considered to be safe the concerns that was raised were about the mercury content in amalgams. However the mercury when combined with the other metals is renders stable and safe for use in fillings.
Since amalgam filling are able to withstand high pressure they become useful for filling in molars where chewing load is higher. Amalgam filling are well tolerated by most people with only rare occurrences of allergic response. Some people may have short term sensitivity to hot and cold after an amalgam filling as been done. Course amalgam filling are silver in color which may be okay for back teeth not easily seen but might not be want you would want to have towards the front of your mouth.
Amalgam fillings are useful in baby teeth. If a child still has baby teeth but needs a filling you may not want to spend the cost for white color fillings, on teeth that will soon come out when your child start to get their adult teeth in.
In the end amalgam filling still have their place and it should be something to consider when having filling done. Talk to your dentist and find out all your filling options then decide what you may feel is best for you and your family And remember all dental services are less expensive when you have a dental insurance or dental discount plan in place. So keep us in mind for your dental plans needs.

I have a dentist that I take my four year old daughter to. She can be really fussy and he is the only dentist so far that is able to deal with her well and not have issues. My problem is that he is not covered under my current dental plan I get though my job. The dental office stated that they do take then Careington 500 series that I see on your web site. So I have two questions is it okay to get this plan just for my daughter? And will it be okay to buy if I have other dental insurance.
