Question: I had my wisdom teeth pulled and and now a week latter my teeth still hurt. Nothing seems to help and I starting to think I may have dry socket.
Answer: It can take a while to heal after having wisdom teeth pulled and it is not unnatural to still be hurting even after a week. Yet the best advise I can give is that you go back in to see your dentist to make sure you are healing correctly. Also if you do have dry socket the dentist then can address that issue with you too.

Question: Are there any dental plans for a child only? Need dental insurance for my fourteen year old.
Answer: Few dental insurance companies will let you buy their plans for only a minor. So it really depends on the plan you are reviewing. Such as our PPO plan though Standard Life dental insurance and our HMO plan though California Dental will write a child only on the plan where as our other dental insurance plan required at least one adult which means buying a couple plan.
You may also wish to review our dental discount plans though Careington as they too will let you have the plan for only a minor child. If after reviewing our dental plan options you have any questions please call our member services at 310-534-3444 as they would be happy to help.

There is no need for toothpaste to be used initially on babies. However, for toddlers who want to imitate their parents, use only a tiny amount of non-fluoridated paste (amount smaller than a pea, since infants and toddlers often swallow toothpaste). Keep using the non-fluoridated variety until your child can spit it all out, because swallowing too much fluoride can cause fluorosis, a discoloration of future permanent teeth

The AAPD advises that a baby should have their fist dental visit at least by their first birthday. Most general or family dentist are comfortable working with young children but you should confirm before booking an appointment. Also you always have the opinion to be referred out to a pediatric dentist who specializes in infant dental care.
Assuming you have taken your child to see a dentist on or before their first birthday, there is not to much going on with their first dental appointment. It is relatively simple and probably won’t involve treatment at all. The first appointment is usually used to introduce your child to the concept of the dentist and hygienist.
Most dentists have no problems with including the parent in all aspects of the first few dental visits. The parent will be invited to sit and hold their child during the examination, while the dentist or hygienist looks for existing tooth decay, structure of your child’s bite and health of their gums, jaws and other oral tissues. Your dentist may also discuss good oral hygiene practices, the effects of thumb sucking or pacifiers, teething issues, and when to book the next appointment.

Looking for a good Pediatric Dentist for my Daughter Dental and Oral Health Care. I just moved to California with my five year old daughter. I will also need to get a dental insurance plan that will let us choose our own dentist, I am will not be going to the same dentist as my daughter. I want to be able to change dentist if I feel like it with going though any hassle of having to stay within a network of providers.

I do not really understand why at 30 I can not seem to find any dental insurance plan that affordable for a low income person like me and the only low cost services or free programs are all for kids. When it comes to dental why do kids really even need it? As an adult, I’ve have to go to the dentist way more than when I was a kid. I recently had 3 wisdom teeth out, have a 4th one coming in, and I have to pay it all out of pocket because my small insurance policy won’t cover dental. I think it’s more important that adults get covered first.

Delta Dental Insurance will make Caring for your children teeth more affordable. Cleaning and proper dental care of children teeth should begin when the first tooth is visible. This is because teeth are susceptible to decay as soon as they appear in your child mouth.
Many children do not get the proper dental care due to increasing cost. However Dental Dental offer low cost dental HMO plans that make dental care much more affordable. Get the dental care and coverages you and your family needs at an affordable cost. To review all our dental insurance dental plan options in your state just enter your zip code for a quote comparison.

I am in need of some help. I have a three year old daughter that seems to have a cavity I was brushing her teeth when I notice a small black dot that I could not brush off. This is the first time I seen it there and I am really careful about taking care of her teeth since we do not have dental insurance. We live in Florida and I would like to know if you have any dental plans for kids or family that would be affordable and help us with our daughter dental care needs.

I have a four year old that needs to see the dentist. I am teaching him to take good care of his teeth and we brush them three times a day and we are working on flossing but I mostly doing that for him right now. He has been to the dentist about a year ago when I had dental benefits. I no longer receive dental benefits with my current job and I can not afford much.
I saw on your website that you have a dental plan though Careington as low as $7.95. This is looking good to me I understand it is a discount plan but it affordable and will help me with my son basic dental care. What I would like to know is can I get it only for my son? I do not need to pay for a family do I? Please advise.

I have a family or four with and currently have no dental insurance coverage. I know some dental plans offer discounts off of the dental office charges, but I need to make sure that I would be saving money by paying the monthly dues and whatever the discount will be on the dentist visit. I would rather have dental insurance but will take what is affordable if it makes sense to do so
