Ohio State University Bus Taking dentistry to the Students
The Ohio State University Dental H.O.M.E. Coach was parked outside Valley Forge Elementary School on the North Side provide dental care to student in need. The Dental Health Outreach Mobile Experience Coach travels to a different Columbus City School building every weekday and sometimes on Saturdays since the program started in 2005.
In the past year, the program has seen 2,723 patients and completed 9,723 procedures. That’s $353,990 of services, according to Ohio State. The program’s annual operating budget is about $250,000 a year.
